You’d think finding a t-shirt you love would be easy, right? But after years of searching and never quite finding the one, I realized—it's not as simple as it seems!

Maybe I’m being a bit of a Goldilocks here, but when it comes to a wardrobe staple that you’ll wear over and over again, it should be just right. So, after years of unsuccessful attempts, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create the perfect tee myself.

A business colleague-turned-friend introduced me to a manufacturer in Los Angeles, and I was hooked. From diving deep into what makes a great tee to obsessing over the tiniest details (even the label!), it was a fascinating experience. This was my first time designing a product under our brand, so I took my time to ensure everything was exactly how I wanted it.

So, what exactly makes a tee perfect? Here’s what mattered most to me:

1. THE FABRIC

For our everyday crew neck and striped v-neck, I wanted something softer than soft cotton—almost like that perfect vintage tee, but without the stretched-out, sweaty feel you get from old sheets. For a slightly more polished option, we created a linen-cotton blend. It's super breathable, making it ideal for hot summer days, but still feels sophisticated.

2. THE LENGTH

Maybe it’s because I’m on the petite side, but most tees are either too long or too boxy. We aimed for the perfect length: long enough to tuck in a little at the front, but not so long that it looks like you’re wearing a dress. It’s versatile enough to wear with pants or jean shorts, and hits just below the waist.

3. THE HEM

I went with a raw-edge double hem to keep things casual, but with a twist. Unlike other raw hems that roll up after one wear, this design stays in place. The double hem helps the fabric stay flat on the arms and at the bottom of the tee. It’s the little details that really make a difference!

4. THE WASHABILITY

To really test the durability, I put our prototypes to the ultimate test. Our two daughters wore them non-stop, and you know how kids are—they put everything in the wash after every single wear. So these tees spent plenty of time in the washer and dryer. I’m happy to report, they held up beautifully!

5. THE TIMELESSNESS

I wasn’t interested in creating a trendy graphic tee or something that would only work for one season. I wanted something classic. We went with black, white, stripes, and a neutral sage green—pieces that will never go out of style.

After about 15 months of design, testing, and refining, we’re thrilled with the final result. Our perfect tee is here, and we hope you love it as much as we do. Now... on to the next design!

And don't forget to try our perfect now!
